About Jim

Jim Watson is a veteran, former Chief of Police, former pastor, grandfather, great-grandfather, and lifelong storyteller.

For more than four decades, Jim worked in law enforcement, serving in corrections, probation, parole, court services, and police leadership. Throughout his career, he met people from every walk of life and witnessed both the best and the worst of the human experience. Those experiences helped shape his understanding of resilience, personal responsibility, forgiveness, family, and the power of second chances.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Jim served as a pastor, offering guidance and support to individuals and families facing some of life’s most difficult challenges. His faith, combined with years of real-world experience, continues to influence both his life and his writing.

Perhaps Jim’s most important roles, however, have been those of husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Family has always been at the center of his life. Much of his inspiration comes from the people he loves most and the lessons learned through life’s joys, struggles, successes, and storms.

For more than thirty years, Jim carried a dream of becoming an author. Like many dreams, life often seemed to get in the way. Career responsibilities, family obligations, and the demands of everyday life pushed that dream into the background. But the dream never disappeared.

One day, Jim decided to stop waiting and start writing.

Today, he is the founder of Watson Family Publishing and the author of both children’s and nonfiction books. His writing explores themes of faith, family, kindness, resilience, personal growth, addiction, recovery, trauma, healing, and hope.

Jim is also the creator of The Adventures of Meep & Moop, a heartwarming children’s book series inspired by his granddaughters and great-granddaughters. Through fun mysteries and adventures, the series teaches timeless values such as kindness, helpfulness, fairness, respect, love, and being true to yourself.

Jim believes stories can teach lessons that last a lifetime.

Whether writing for children or adults, Jim’s goal remains the same: to create stories that encourage, inspire, educate, and remind readers that they are never alone in their struggles and never too old to pursue their dreams.
